Back when I was surfing the BMW forums, there were constant arguments about whether BMW's leather or vinyl were better, and also how to distinguish between the two! As a former owner of BMW leather, I can testify that it was d#mned hard to tell the diff sometimes, making me wonder why I paid the diff. The leather on my Audi A6 was great, thick and grained like the 9-5 leather. The leather in my GTI is softer and has little gathers, which is the latest fashion.
