I toured the Washington DC Auto Show on Monday. Made it a point to sit in as many cars and talk to as many reps as possible since there were no crowds. I was a bit disappointed by Saab's showing. For the large space they had to fill, they included three 9-3's (one being the convertible) and three 9-5's. The 9-3's looked great in this setting. But having so many other new cars in their proximity demonstrated the age of the 9-5's. I hadn't realized just how dated the 9-5 design has become. No concept cars whatsoever and no mention of the 9-2 or 9-7 that I saw. Only the current 2004 Saab range brochures were available. The two representatives manning the booth were not the most enthusiastic of the show either. Saab had an opportunity to grow one of it's largest markets yet I left feeling they didn't put ANY time into this show. To top this their cars were literally the dirtiest of the show.
This is arguably the most exciting time in Saabs history. I know Saab could have done better.
