something that might be important to you if you're driving. Usually there's a few pixels missing from the SID anyhow, no sense making it worse...
I use a set of Smith "sliders" for driving, mountain biking and snowboarding. They come with three sets of lenses (I chose black, orange and yellow) Black is good for driving or sports in bright light. Orange is good all around except for the brightest of light (good in the woods) and yellow is good in the dark, or on rainy or overcast days. The only problem I've had with them so far is they fog up if you're givin'er and you stop.
For fishing, canoeing and other water sports I use polarized glasses.
Generally speaking- for sports plastic lenses are lighter and shatterproof. Look for rubber nose pads unless you like pushing your glasses back onto your face.
Like most things, once you get a good pair- you won't be satisfied with the cheaper alternative.
