Our local phone company, Qwest, just started a big advertising campaign for DSL at $26.99 a month. So, me still on dial-up, I called them to check if I could get it. Sorry, DSL is not yet available in your area. ?!?! Friends and family have had it for five years or more! I am beginning to think I am just cursed... Oh sure, I could probably get cable modem, but as was mentioned before, Comcast is continuing the screwage that was formerly known as AT & T, and there are no deals to be found. Heck, I cannot even get cable TV for less than $35 a month, unless I want the same channels I can get over an antenna, and even that seems steep to me, at $14 a month. You'd think there would be some package deal if you want DSL and cable TV together, but NOOOOO, that would make too much sense.
