An alarming rate of my friends have BMW 3 series convertibles, some 323, others 330, convertibles, coupes, sedans, etc etc etc.
Aside from smoking all of them with my Viggen, I am also able to enjoy good quality reception from my iPod via the FM modulator device. I place my iPod on the rearview mirror with Velcro and amazingly it sounds VERY good. All of my BMW buddies are stunned because it sounds so incredibly lousy on all their Bimmers, even placed on the rearview mirror.
My parent's Lexus has the same problem.
Perhaps Apple is looking at helping those owners of brands that sound awful even with the FM device.
If you have a Saab and are strugglin, try placing the ipod on the rearview mirror by applying velcro on the back of the iPod and on the front of the mirror.
Good luck.
