After messing up what may have been a perfect relationship there is only one path to resolution. You need to definitively know what she was planning to use the money for. Note - I did not say to know whether or not she was lying, there my be instances where even a falsehood could be justified once the true use of the borrowed money is known.
Then it becomes decision time. You either continue to walk away, or turn back and grovel.
Hope this turns out for the best, whatever that direction may be.
