Depends on how much you love your bike.
My dad used to go so far as to remove the exhaust pipes and pour oil in them. To his credit, the pipes lasted 28 years.
This is what I've picked up:
-Leave the tank entirely empty or entirely full to prevent rusting.
-Empty carbeurator bowls to save yourself the spring cleanout.
-Remove the battery or buy a gel cell.
-Clean it and be sure to "dry" it off...
Another trick for REALLY long term storage would be to pour oil in the gas tank as it's almost out of gas and run it 'till it chokes. Makes a big stink next time you start it, but keeps the air passages and cylinders oiled.
