I grew up in shelburne just 5 min south of burlington. Great town/area, i'd have to agree with everybody who said its for the outdoor type. It becomes verymuch a college town in the fall and the downtown area is really nice. Good places to eat vermontpub and brew, NECI, Al's french frys, bove's(good cheap italian), just make sure you have a beer from long trail and a magic hat, best beer in the world! Just watch your speed while in and around the burlington area i know the cops have nothing to do but nail people in saabs with out of state plates. They've got me 3 times since i moved to maine.... Pack your skis, bike, kayak, winter hat, wallet, and enjoy...
