It's very large but the kids like them. It puts the kids closer to the back of the front seat than some of the others which is not good. It's worked great but it takes up a lot of room. Width-wise it is also large. My kids do like them but when the time comes that they can use just a booster, you'll find that you don't want to use the Alpha Omega anymore because it's so darn large. The only person who can fit in the back seat between the children with two Alpha Omegas is myself because I have such a tiny rear end.
I don't think the size issue is strictly specific to the Alpha-Omega but the Costco car seat we have IS smaller but is also less comfortable. I had to put some extra padding in it as one of my children go the same little behind as myself.
