I have several of each, and 5speeds and autos each too.

The 9K, to me, is more of a highway car, more refined, more stock power, larger car. The 900 is more of a rally car, feel the road, less stock power, smaller car. You can get either in a four door trunk, the 9K in a four door with hatch, the 900 two door with hatch, and only the 900 in a convertible. (there is a four door hatch 900 - fairly rare)

I also have 9000CD's MY92 autos and have been through the throttle body upgrade to fix the TCS problem. No problems for 10 years now. Mash the pedal and oops... we are doing 95 again...

All that being said, I'd like to have a 2.3T engine mounted in a 900 with the 5 speed. That would be fun!
