I know you guys don't want to hear from a Mac user, but you know, this board is full of threads of guys complaining that their 60k service was not free, or that Saab refused to replace their engine when it failed after the warranty was up, etc. etc.. Story after story of complaining to zone managers, lemon laws, etc, etc. A little bit of unplanned maintenance expense, and we're all like, we're gonna dump the Saab and buy a Toyota.
And yet when it comes to computers, you all just keep bending over and giving Bill G more money for crappy products, crappy services, and high costs.
Don't you realize that your new copy of Windows Super Duper Vista Extreme is gonna cost more than a 60k service. And it won't work any better than the Windows (P)OS you are running now.
My advice is:
1. Keep your Saab and plan for some maintenance costs.
2. Find an alternative to Windows that costs less and works better.
End of rant. Let the flames begin.
