Hey everyone,

After picking up my '05 9-3 Aero convertible, I was immediately disappointed by the stereo and took the car to a high end shop here in the LA area. Lots of pricey cars in the parking lot...thus they clearly must know what they are doing.

After a very expensive upgrade, the stereo sounded amazing...when it WORKED. The additional amp kept cutting out, and I got no sound most of the time. The car went back twice to swap out a supposed bad amp and then a supposed bad LC-6 connection thing. Now, I get no sound for the first 20 minutes, then loud static for 15 minutes which I can stop by pushing down the window switches (I know...what a nightmare), then perfect sound. I also get a super loud turn signal and Park distance control.

I took the car to Saab of Santa Monica and the maintenance guys say it's one of the worst stereo jobs they've ever seen, with wires cut behind the dash that should never have been cut, and a royal mess behind the ACC control. The loud turn signal is the result of someone not knowing what they were doing and it shouldn't be extra amplified by the new amp. They also asked me why I didn't use their stereo shop of choice (my bad...). The service manager said there's a slight chance he may need to order a new wiring harness for the front of the car too....YIKES!

The car is now scheduled to go BACK to the LA shop I went to initially for THREE DAYS (while I'm out of town) to correct all the problems. If they still screw it up, I assume I can demand a refund for the labor, but keep the parts, right? (the speakers and amp are all very high end and it really does sound outstanding). Or take it to the recommended shop and then have them send the shop who did the work the bill for it?

Has anyone gone through this type of mess before? My biggest concern is that they've screwed up other electrical components...

Just interested in people's thoughts...

Cheers,
Paul H.
