The way the test works now is that it starts out with 'easy' questions and if you continue to get them right they get progressively harder. If you get one wrong, the next one is a little easier, then a little harder/easier based on answers and so on. The idea is that way they find the top of your ability and thus the score. You get no indication of if you get the question right or not as you test.
I thought it sounded a little odd at first, but when I sat down and took the test I realized that it's really a great system...that is, the questions at the start are typically pretty easy and you gain some confidence early in the section rather than starting with a tough question in the paper version and getting a little depressed about your chances.
Either way, I'm glad I'm done with it :)
