What Saab engines are made at Soedertaelje? Only the 9-5 motors right? The 9-3SS engines are made in Germany. So it kinda' makes sense as the 9-5 is being replaced that they would close the plant.
Isn't Soedertaelje also a Scania truck engine plant?
Using the 9-3SS motor in a larger displacement might produce a smoother engine in the next Saab 9-5. I don't know that abondoning 4 cylinder turbo motors for V6's at the price of todays fuel. Four cylinder executive class cars are a Saab exclusive.
