Vitamin B 12 and Swedish heritage Posted by Landjet [Email] (#16) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Landjet) on Sat, 4 Nov 2006 17:04:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
In conversation with my flight surgeon yesterday, when he discovered I was from Swedish descent, he mentioned that for some unknown reason, there is a vitamin B 12 absorption deficiency as a receptor is absent in the stomach to pick up the molecule. He ran it by so fast, and I was so surprised, I did not question him further.
Has anyone else heard of this affliction, and what is the solution? I saw subliminal applications that could go under the tongue -- but there are apparently problems with how the larger molecule can find entry into the bloodstream?
When I mentioned this to my mother, she was also surprised, and immediately remembered that in 1937, her mother was stricken with pains in her legs. There was so much pain that she could not walk until a remedy was found. Apparently, it was B 12 deficiency, but she could not remember how the cure was administered.
