I've been trying to find out about the Georgia SAAB Club since moving to the Atlanta area 11 years ago. From time to time I'd send an email but never got a response. Yesterday I came across a different address and took a shot, asking about planned activites, newsletters, get-togethers, etc.
Finally, after eleven years, an answer. But not one I expected to hear.
Seems there is a monthly dinner, but only one person ever shows up.
There is no newsletter per-se, but there is an email list that gets press releases from SAAB etc.
Activities.... none
For a metro area the size of Atlanta I was really surprised at the state of affairs. I say this not to disparage the people who've been running it, but something has gone really wrong.
SO! Since I'm not the type of person to complain and then not do anything about it, I'm going to attempt to do something about it.
The main purpose this post is to find out just how much interest there is in re-starting an official Georgia SAAB Club.
I ask that you please take a minute of your time to click on my name, send me a message, and let me know if the interest is there.
I'd like to see a club that meets for dinners, mountain drives, day trips, "cruise-inns", etc. Maybe even toss in a dyno day or workshop here and there. Most of all something fun where people with a common interest can get together and relax and enjoy.
Thanks for your time and thanks Scott for allowing me to post this message.
Best Regards
Jon
