Yeah, wrist reaches the top of the steering wheel is a good test. If you use shuffle steering instead of hand over hand like the classic drivers did that's somewhat less important.
At the student per teacher ratio the areo accademy is using they're a bargain. My son asked(!) to learn how to get out of skids after listening to me talk about practicing in parking lots in the winter in northern Minnesota. We sent him to Skip Barber at Laguna Seca as a high school graduation present and in two days his whole perspective (and his skill level) changed dramatically. He was criticizing my line through corners after the first day. I'm a nervous rider, but I'd ride with him anywhere in any conditions. Skip Barber taught shuffle steering, but I'm still working on it. It's hard to change 40 years of habit.
Skip Barber's two day school is $2995 now, and they didn't have one instructor per three students. But they did have Vipers for the graduation autocross :-)
