I agree. This is a city driving/sharper corner approach. Long, sweeping curves on slippery surfaces require a different approach. We take our students to collision avoidance training using a freeway. The road is pretty much always bare.
There have been some devastating multi-fatality collisions in Canada this winter driving season - one in the Rocky Mountains involving freightliners and another in New Brunswick involving a freightliner and a mini-van full of b-ball players. I put the latter (at least in part) down to inappropriate use of all-season tires.
