it is so dumb. A lot of truth in what No Snaab says above. SAAB Automobile AB in any of it's corporate incarnations has always been a very small company, and has always relied on parts or designs from one company or another for all of their cars. Probably the closest thing to a Unique SAAB was the Classic 900, but that shared architecture with the 99, which had a Triumph engne, and the H-series engine used in the 900, while unique to SAAB and designed by SAAB, was still based on that Triumph engine. I believe the presence of a hatchback is what is making the NG900/OG9-3 "the last true SAAB" at present. In a couple of years, there will be used car ads touting the 9-5 as the last true SAAB, because it was designed and went into production when GM only owned 1/2 of the company. While SAAB people are generally sensible and mature, this "last real SAAB" thing, applied to a wide variety of models, is truly immature.
