In the many centuries I've done, it was the hydration and keeping an even level of electrolytes in the blood that helped. I was younger then.
Try to avoid the early fast group. You'll pass some of them later. Go just a bit slower than you think is normal. Draft only if you're comfortable with it. It's dangerous!
Use the downhills to help launch you up the next hill when possible. Also if you've practiced, occasionally pedal about a quarter mile every so often standing up to stretch out the muscles and to relieve your aching butt. It's also good to stretch your arms/shoulders while riding. One hand at a time, place palm away from you behind your back & slowly trace up as far as you can reach. Most folks get tired shoulders long before leg muscle fatigue sets in.
Stop & enjoy the scenery. Smile, sing, laugh, lay down & stretch out in the sun. It is literally all good.
Enjoy the ride for those who cannot.
