...just because I have test driven the Subaru Legacy GT and as it stands it a very nice drive. Generally very good handling overall with a great AWD system and reliable boxer motor. If they could have essentially dropped the 9-3 body and interior onto the Subaru chassis I think it might have worked out nicely, especially if Saab did some suspension tuning on the chassis.
Same goes for the Subaru Tribeca conversion that never happened. It would have been 10X the Saab that the 9-7X is. Smaller, better handling and a little odd in it's own way.
A friend of mine moved over to a 9-2X Aero after having two 900 SETs and he loves the car. Bulletproof motor, and no problems whatsoever with anything (oil and plugs, that's about it).
Some further evolution would have been nice but unfortunately that collaborative effort died (too soon in my opionion).
