A different angle, but true. A kid I knew in grade school was like you. Pierre was 6'tall and 200 lbs in 8th grade. Excellent athlete. But we still had fun even when he was on the other team.
I don't know where it comes from, but there is this cult of sports that is, IMO, waaay over the top. The idea of kids' sports, I always thought, was to have fun and teach some of the teamwork stuff. The almost regimented nature of kids' sports to day goes way beyond that. I'm not so sure kids are having as much fun as they would if their activities weren't so hyper-organized by a horde of Type-A personality adults who bring their egos, personal ambitions and failed dreams onto the playing field.
Just let the kids have fun. Some games you win. Some games you lose. And not everything is fair.
Gee, sounds a helluva lot like life.
