They don't sell well so they don't advertise them. But the reason they don't sell well is becuase they don't advertise them. If they spent just a fraction of what they spend hawking Chevy trucks they might actually generate enough demand to where they would make a profit. The 9-5 is hardly an antiquated POS and companies have done a lot more with a lot less. The VW Beetle of the sixties really was an antiquated POS, even then. In an era when customers expected something totally new every year, VW took the complete opposite approach and had waiting lists. They did it with ADVERTISING (and very clever advrtising at that). Look at the Jeep Wrangler--up until recently it was a design from the '40's. Look at the Mini Cooper, they haven't changed a thing about it since it came out. All of the European cars have gotten so insanely complicated that maybe Saab could carve out a niche for itself as the antithesis, the thinking person's sport sedan. But it would require at least some marketing effort.
