I did some arc welding in a summer school class a long time ago but not since. It's one of those skills I'd like to have but can't make the local community college's schedule. Anyone have any thoughts on teaching myself? Also thought about finding someone who is a professional welder and hiring them for some lessons in the basics. I don't mind going through scrap metal as I learn but I'm also a little paranoid about safety.....
