My parents had one... Posted by Clay McNeely [Email] (#497) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Clay McNeely) on Tue, 28 Apr 2009 12:22:16 In Reply to: Re: 6000, andym, Tue, 28 Apr 2009 11:17:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was fairly young at the time, but I thought our 6000 STE was some futuristic space-ship. It had more buttons than I had ever seen before in my entire life. The radio was multi-lingual, it had gauges, read-outs, bells, and whistles for every single little thing. Needless to say, it was an absolute electrical nightmare after a year or two, but that is the price one pays for new (and often unnecessary) technology. Sometimes the radio would come on at full-volume and plugging your ears was the only solution. Other times, the electronics wouldn't come on, the language would change without notice, etc. Oh, the joys. I can't comment on the driving or handling characteristics due to my age at the time, but it was all rather mesmerizing to a young kid. Drive safely and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
