An M5 with 120K on it is a potential maintenance nightmare. I know the M3 engine (6 cylinder) of a few years back was said to cost around $15K because it was all hand assembled with some very expensive parts. Hard to say what the M5 would be. This is a car that's in all likelyhood been run hard all it's life--it's essentially what it's designed for. This is a common thing, the allure, the chance for a mere mortal to own a car of the "stars" for a mere pitance. You see them all of the time, top of the line exotic cars you can buy on the cheap. There's a reason they're cheap, and that's because owning them isn't. That's why the rich guys who bought them new are bailing--they ain't dumb. Before you leap find out what insurance costs, find out what it costs for a new clutch, exhaust system, brakes/rotors, head gasket--all of the kinds of thing cars with 120K are likely to need. My advise would be to RUN.
