A lot of the value depends on whether or not the car still has the following:
Catalytic converter
starter motor
alternator
radiator
a/c compressor
heater core
alloy rims
I know a guy who buys junk cars and scraps them. He doesn't get much more than $300 bucks for an intact car these days. A year and a half ago, he could clear $500 easy. I think that the price of copper and steel may be beginning to rebound, in which case your chassis might be getting slightly more valuable over time.
