I had a 3000 Healey with wires......very pretty to look at, but they're not without issues, flat tires notwithstanding. If you're going to use the car as a driver and want to eliminate wire wheel issues, look into a wheel conversion. Victoria British carries a couple of wheel conversion packages, one of them is particularly nice being a Minilite replica 8-spoke. This way you can use modern rubber without an inner tube, plus you'll be able to repair the tire with one of those emergency-type products. Depending on the bolt pattern, you may even be able to find and carry a modern mini-spare. The factory raced these cars with disc wheels.....do a Google search to take a look. In fact, you can convert the wires to factory discs, but the parts may cost you. A wheel conversion won't really alter the car. Keep your wires if you ever decide to convert back or sell the car.
