If this is gonna be the new 9-5, I have great hopes for it. I'll post some pix as son as I have a few minutes.
This car was a great drive. It could use some slightly faster reflexes, but it had very ordinary tires and the ride could be firmed up a bit. But that can be said for many cars (including the current 9-5 and the 9K).
The diesel was wonderful. It had bags of torque that pushed me back in the seat when I accelerated hard out of roundabouts, and had lots of poke for passing. Not quite the same snap as my 9K, but close enough!
I'm picky about seats and steering and this car was totally fine for fairly chunky sedan. I could have driven across Europe in it without a second thought. It was great on all kinds of roads. I wish I'd had it in a normal left-hand drive version in a drive-on-the-right country, as driving on the left takes getting used to. But the car was so composed and easy to drive that it wasn't a big deal. It just would have been more fun.
I wonder how us Saabers could go about convincing Saab to have a hatchback diesel version of the 9-5 available here in the U.S.? This is close to a perfect car for so may things.
