The reality of the junk car business is that older low volume cars go to the crusher, the time and expense of saving parts for unknown enthusiasts (for a typical non-SAAB specialist yard) means the scrap value is more profitable. The engine will go to a rebuilder, the transmission to a rebuilder and the rest gets crushed. An older Integra might get saved before the SAAB, just the market at work.
If you are willing to settle for only a couple of hundred from the scrap yard, why not sell it for the same low price on the boards here to someone who can replace the transmission and deal with the issues to keep it roadworthy. 122,000 miles really is not a lot of miles for that car, although paying retail for repairs at this age can put you under. DIYers would tackle those tasks....
