I'm not entirely certain as to the extent of similarities, but I do know that the platforms are shared...and I believe the same holds true for the engines and a number of "unseen" components. The 9-4X will also be manufactured alongside the SRX in Mexico. I realize this is going to create a lot of negative buzz among the Saab community, but it's certainly a huge step in the right direction when you compare it to the 9-2X and the 9-7X, which were both great vehicles in their own respect...but were definitely victims of badge-engineering. The 9-4X should be viewed as more of a distant cousin to the SRX, whereas the 9-2X and 9-7X were more nearly-identical siblings to their counterparts. I would/will be proud to call myself a 9-4X owner. And to the nay-sayers out there, if nothing else, the 9-4X should sell extremely well and help to pad the pockets of the new independent Saab...which, in turn, will help fund the 100% Swedish "Saab-Saab" that we all dream about at night. Drive safely and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
