A few weeks ago, I posted that I had taken my car in for a rough idle (rough to me, but I am very picky) on my 2007 Aero.

The dealer ordered a motor mount (not sure 100% which one) and installed it this past Monday (for anyone local in Kentucky - Quantrell in Lexington).

Honestly, when I got in the car, I thought it would make it idle very smoothly, but unfortunately, I could not detect any difference. Seems to me, when I had my 2000, it was night and day difference, after the mount was replaced, but my 2000 was the V-6 which was probably a smoother engine.

I do not remember my 1999 Viggen being this rough, though. It is not bad at idle, with the Auto in park. The vibration is when the foot is on the brake at a stop, with A/C on, either reverse or in Drive. A/C off helps a bit, but not much.

At speed, the car is VERY smooth - only during idle is it rough. I guess from you 2.3 owners out there - is this a normal thing? I mean, I guess I expect the car to not have very much vibration in the wheel at idle like this, and the only way I am going to be able to judge if it is a 9-5 trait is to drive another 2007 model and compare. Also, I have been out of the SAAB world for about 6 years (driving Subies and Infinitis) so maybe I just don't remember correctly.

It was very apparent when I drove my sisters new Hyundai (and my wife's I35) just how coarse my idle is under load. Not like shake your arm crazy, just there.

Thanks,
Rob
