In another article on this it was stated that the Saab built there would be for Russian consumption only and not as state of the art as the owns being built in Sweden. I recall when Fiat 124s were built in the USSR and were modified for the not so great roads in Russia. The independent suspension was replaced with a solid rear axle (kinda like the Saab 99 / 900!) for rough roads. You will be able to tell which ones are Russian made - they will not have windshield wiper blades when parked.
