yeah, I should clarify, I don't have anything against macs... pcs + macs both have their pros + cons...
I did a quick comparison in the sales flyers here a couple weeks ago, and eg a macpro i5 based system specified similarly to a Toshiba i5 based system (though the toshiba had a bigger hd) was $1899 vs $999, so virtually double. There were several other examples at other price points. I know it used to be that way, but I thought the price gap had closed somewhat... That said, historically, OS X has run faster than windows on similar hardware, so the price difference may be justifiable (in that a Mac user is willing to pay more for the os, and that seems to be true). Jobs has a way of making things that are (fairly) revolutionary even if they have unimpressive processing specs (eg ipad vs netbook).
relative pricing may also be different up here in Canada than the US...
