It gives me a very good feeling to hear stories like this. My parents have always been die-hard Toyota fans and are getting to a point in their lives that they will probably become die-hard Lexus fans. I just don't understand it...but then again, a car is much more than just an appliance to me. From their perspective, just about the only thing that matters in a car is reliability. Alright, I'll give Toyota/Lexus that argument, even if that has been tarnished in the recent past.
I was talking to a couple at the Owner's Convention a couple months ago and the husband had just traded in his Camry for a new 9-3. He said he just didn't realize how bad his Toyota really was until he drove a Saab...he just didn't know anything different. It just goes to show that the old Saab tagline is right - those who test-drive a Saab usually buy one. For me, the entire Toyota/Lexus lineup puts me to sleep, whether driving it or even just looking at it. I test-drove the new 9-5 at the Owner's Convention and everything you have said about it so far is spot-on. You've made a tremendously intelligent decision. Good luck, enjoy, drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
