My take on this for what it is worth, is that the world needs to address this bullying by what is by all accounts, a miniscule number of people (percentage-wise of the world's population) and eradicate them.
I "resent" having to go through security at all just because a few religious fanatics can hold the rest of the travelling world to ransom.
For all the smarts of the various governments around the world wanting to fight terrorism, I find it incredulous that they offer a $1M reward for Ohsama [sic]; when the average pakistani/afghani probably have no idea what a million bucks is. Interestingly, Ohsama [sic] offered bags of gold for Bush's head. Now Ohsama speaks the natives' language and understands how to communicate with them. We could do much to learn (unfortunately) from his tactics. Why aren't the governments taking a leaf out of Ohsama's books and offering gold for info to pakistani's and afghani's to turn these idiots in? Money (in the form of gold) talks.
On a side note, I find it interesting that a certain religious group recently applied to the Ontario Provincial Government to have Sharia Law recognized; And now I read that the state of Oklahoma is grappling with the same request from the same religious affiliation which is now suing Oklahoma saying that denying this request violates their first admendment rights. If these groups don't want to integrate into western society (which is what their request seems to imply), the culture and equality-strides that have taken 50 years to get to this point in our western culture will eventually evaporate. It's just a matter of time.
The shootings at Fort Hood, Texas because a Major didn't want to fight his own religious sect come to mind - he'd rather kill American soldiers on their native soil than kill he own religious "kind"; honour killing of women who have become "too westernized" by their fathers and brothers in the US, Canada and other western countries; and now this same group has applied for federal funding to build the mosque in NY under the 9/11 fund.
Dangerous times ahead, and by the time we all realise that it's too late to stop this, it will be too late.
And Scott, I'm posting this because I know this isn't my usual IP nor posting name. I don't want to get banned as I love this site. If you want my real ID, I'll give it to you privately. I know how to email you as I have supported this site with advertisments.
