if done right anyway... it would remove the problem cars. Whether it would boost the value of good used ones is questionable... but it could conceivably be a very efficient way to stock good used parts so that maintenance of an older (otherwise good) saab could be more cheap + easy... if that was desired... probably not in the corporate self-interest? combine it with mileage emblems for the older gems?
that said, to be honest, I think the people who have bad impressions got them either from buying first model years new (having to go in all the time for warranty work), or as second owners of cars off lease (again, early model years) that may not have been well enough maintained previously (and going forward, eg sludge)... that's what I see in the 9-5's and OG9-3's... those people would probably make the same mistakes again, perhaps with another brand... there are people still driving around at 100k with the original spark plugs! unfortunately their voice gets heard...
