Couple of things on the fuel. First, the Lawn & Garden equipment is having problems with E10 fuel, especially as most of the equipment is corroborated. Stupidly they have only been testing to what was commercially available at the pump, which most was actually more like E5, and as the E content has moved towards true E10 it has been causing lots of problems (the industry is up in arms about the proposal of E15). Other issues could arise from bad fuel from over winter storage. But as you say the issues started last year, it would seem the E content over bad fuel. In some areas, mainly more rural, straight gas is still available, so if it is around you, you may want to get some. Check your owners manual & with the manufacturer about fuel issues, such as what to clean & if you need an additive to keep things from gumming up. And as you said, you may need a corroborator adjustment.
Also check your warranty. Most L&G warranties are for 2 years, but depending on the manufacturer & warranty, they may or may not cover fuel issues & other things they may consider the customers responsibility like corroborator adjustments.
