Firstly, thanks! Saabnet is a great resource for Saabs, but it is also a great resource for all else under the Sun.
As you all can tell I am months away from starting my Orthopaedic office.
I need to go paperless, with digitalized X-rays and such.
I need secure redundant servers.
So....
Most importantly... Which tablets you guys using? I need to review X-rays, write prescriptions, pull up old charts, review consults on PDF, and manage billing spreadsheets. If the ACER Iconia had a reversible screen I would buy it for the duel screen capability. Unfortunately it does not. I believe PC tablets are using faster microprocessors, but if there are good non-PC tablets I would like to know. Apple iPad's are locked and have limited software without USB. I also need Adobe video as many surgical technique vids and instructional courses use them, making Apple dead to me.
Perhaps a tablet with a separate but same company and linkable and tetherable smart phone might be the way to go?
I am not a gamer, so I need a CPU that is fast enough to quickly scroll through multiple CT scan and MRI scan films, but not so fast as to play online.
It needs to be wireless N, and I would prefer a product with a USB, SD reader, and camera.
I can always add an Internet USB from a major carrier, so it need not be telephone ready, but some tablets are telephone ready and that is good.
Which Raid servers you guys using? I need 3 for redundancy (one in the office, one at my home, one at my partner's home). I am thinking RAID 6 for redundancy. I am thinking Unix/Linux for price and stability.
Which cloud stuff you guys using? When I'm in the OR I need to review office notes and X-rays and MRI's of each patient prior to doing the surgery.
Anyone have experience with medical billing software?
Lots of questions.
TIA,
U2bC
