Weird Saab part number -- Made in..? Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Sun, 24 Jul 2011 16:11:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So for my Viggen, I went ahead and ordered the genuine saab part from one of the sponsors here. I asked them if it was made in Sweden and it indeed was and I was even sent a picture. Just what I wanted.
When I received the part, I noticed the made in Sweden sticker was there but on top of another. I peeled if off and it now said made in Czech Republic (still ok with me, I guess) but with another part number. What gives?? What is it? My old rotor (the original from Saab factory has 'SAAB' imprinted on the part close to the hub. Not this one...
Also, usually, there are parts of the rotor that are sprayed to prevent it from rusting. This one, it looks like the whole thing is painted! Even the part where the pads make contact with it. I guess I'm not going to paint it then....just thought it was weird.
Overall, the rotor looks like it's of great quality. Please see picture in the album. I found it all a bit weird.
First 9 photos are of the rotors...
