I've found the 2004 arc sedans I've taken on long runs (all highway, unloaded) average around 32mpg averaging 70mph and driving normally with normal tire pressures. Excessive tire pressures can cause tire damage and I'm not interested in driving unusually to increase mpg numbers. My numbers were calculated from the gas pumps and odometer readings, not the SID, and were taken for long highway only trips (like thousands of miles) with multiple fill ups. Unfortunately, when I load the car down with bikes and stuff on the roof, I get mid 20's... stupid aerodynamics! ha! Actually, I'd be interested to hear what kind of real world mpg wagon owners with hitch racks full of bikes get... I suspect the drag is much less than for a sedan since the bikes should be mostly in the turbulent flow of the wagon, but I'd be interested to hear some numbers!
