We went in 2003 on Saab's dime. Trollhatten is a nice village. The hotel that used to be the European delivery country hotel close to the factory was wonderful. the local Saab dealer was awesome. Wonder what they do now? We drove new Saab 9-3 SS verts up to Linkoping (sp) over a ferry, wonderful. Near the Saab museum are shipping locks, that were very interesting if you haven't seen them before I guess....
Even better is the hotel across the street from the train in downtown Gothenburg, another Saab sourced venue. Gothenenburg is charming, take the canal tour, the ship museum is one of the best, the opera house on the water is magnificent, the old shopping district drains into the new mall. All walking distance from the train station. We took a train to Copenhagen for a day...
