Ref 2004 9-5 AERO sedan

I changed the summer tires to snows earlier this week. I always wash the tires and wheels before storage and inspect the tires for nails and wheels for damage. To my surprise the right front tire had two large tread separations on the inside. No sign of wheel damage on the 17' rims. There was no warning of any tire damage when driving. Usually you get an out of balance vibration.

So the lesson learned is to inspect the tire (and wheel) taking the hit right after hitting pot holes or anything else you run over.

I hope my experience helps someone.
