It was BS! Long Story = Free iPhone 5S + more Posted by Scott Paterson [Email] (#13) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Scott Paterson) on Sat, 15 Feb 2014 18:15:11 In Reply to: Total BS from Verizon and Apple....., TKC, Sat, 15 Feb 2014 09:59:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
After effing running around with my head cut off being told to run to the Verizon store at 10am when it opened... They didn't even try to expedite my help knowing I needed to leave for the airport at 11am. I walked down to the Apple store and they handed me a free SIM card. I drive home and call Verizon back and NOW THEY TELL ME I DO NOT NEED A SIM CARD AT ALL... WTF?!!
We leave at 11:15 and end up missing our check-in cut off by 12 minutes because there was only one agent handling premier United members and the kiosks were not working... Unbelievable day... so, we lose a day of vacation and are booked on the first flight out tomorrow morning.
Now while my wife is chewing out United, I'm sitting down on the phone with Verizon complaining about what they did to my morning (yes, yes, I should have tried to get this worked out on Friday, but they told me to go to the Verizon store asap when I didn't need to do that at all)... so I'm complaining and you know what they offer me to keep me as a customer... Get this... $12.50 off my next $109 bill. I'm serious, that's what they offered me for giving me the run around.
Okay, I decide this is too much and I'm either getting a free iPhone 5S or I'm going back to give ATT another try, seriously. Now, I know that my puny $109/month account is only worth about $12.50 off an iPhone 5S, so I bring in the big guns = my wife. She owns a corporate events company in San Francisco and all the employees are on Verizon. They do international shows including one in Venice in January... Her phone bill alone (she is extremely phone intensive working with international clients all the time) was $450 last month and she has 9 other employees... so you can guess what she did. She called in on her account and we made her an authorized account manager on my account and she went to work on them with the threat of moving the entire company to ATT.
So, she gets them to offer $85... big jump from $12.50 and she says, "Are you kidding me? You are about to lose $1,000's of dollars in monthly fees over this." Then to top it off, as we pull in the driveway my wife has the nerve to say, "Look, we need to wrap this up or this is a done deal because we're at our destination..."
End result, Scott turns in his iPhone 4S and in return, gets a free iPhone 5S, free two years of total insurance against anything that should damage the phone in any way, plus - AND THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST PART - $5 off my next bill. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE $5 OFF MY NEXT BILL - THAT'S THE PART THAT SAVED ME AS A VERIZON CUSTOMER - HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!
All said, I would definitely have preferred that when I initially called into Verizon this morning that they told me right away that I did not need a SIM card in Mexico and added the $25 global service so I would be all set. That was at 8:30am... I would still have a 4S and would still have been a happy Verizon customer and I would have my extra day on vacation with my family - that's really what I preferred had happened...
Off to jailbreak my new 5S!
-Scott
