I agree with Roger, but also to get suppliers lined up and available, keep equipment operational, etc. I may be completely wrong, but I thought the initial EV (for china) was going to be in the old chassis, and if so, there is some merit to ensuring suppliers are ready to deliver all the other parts of the car (even if there are only 200 motors)... if they can recover some costs by selling them, why not? I was surprised though at how poorly they seem to have sold - I know many were not surprised - disdain for an older model at a relatively high price... but 200 cars should not even come close to saturating the hole left by several years of non production for the Saab enthusiast fan-base... I would have thought 200 cars would be an easy sell to fanatics with older models... sadly, what this tells me is that interest in the brand may be waning... or at least from those willing to lay down new car money for the brand. Lets face it - many of us here on TSN are fans of the cars not only because of their great qualities, but also because they are a great value used, fun to work on, last well etc... not really what motivates many to drop serious $$ on a car.
