Ford Fusion Ecoboost

I spent a few hours last Friday driving from Cleveland to Chicago in a Ford Fusion Ecoboost. Been wanting to drive one and this 350 mile evening drive was a decent test, albeit on the Ohio Turnpike and not a nice twisty road.
Was generally pleased with this beast. The difference in NVH, between the Fusion and my old 9K, was apparent, but the Fusion is modern car compared to a '96 9K with 217K on the clock. The engine was a bit rough at higher RPMs but not terrible.
In some ways the car felt a good bit like a 9-5. Seats are not up to Saab standards but were not terrible. The pneumatic lumbar support was nice.
Steering was OK if lacking a bit in feel. The 6 speed tranny shifted well, both paddling and normally. Mileage, according to the car computer was 27-28, running at 80 or so, about what I see in my 9K.
It is not a Saab, but I could see it as a replacement. Just wish the Euro version with the hatch made it across the pond.
Anyone else have thoughts on these?
