In general, an SPG can be identified by the bumper and side-skirt aero kit, as well as the smooth 3-spoke wheels. There was never an SPG badge of any kind as far as I know. I remember reading somewhere that Saab wanted to call them "Aero" in the states, but there was a copyright on the name, so "Special Performance Group" became the name. It was actually an option to add the Special Performance Group, and owners started acalling them SPGs.
There are certainly many c900s which have been turned into SPGs by adding those visual cues.
Suspension and some minor APC software changes were also different, though those variations were changed over the years. They came in limited colors in different years. Black, Edwardian Gray, Talladega Red, Beryl green.
