I have a notebook and record service information. I stick receipts in the inside back of the notebook unless there are too many, then I get a big envelope. In the records, I take notes of each tire and the original poduring, like LF left front, and subsequent positions. For each tire, I can usually distinguish them by the date code (often 2-3 tires have one date code and the fourth has another. I also note where the valve stem is next to, like "valve stem near P of Pirelli". As a back up, I also tie a string with a note, sometimes stick a sticker with a number on it with 1=lf, 2=rf, 3=lr and, if I stack the tires, tire 1 is on the bottom.
