...and the Koenigsegg Group eventually set a deadline for when they needed to reach an agreement (Saab was bleeding cash and people and the longer it took the more cost would have been involved getting things going again in terms of ramping up with suppliers again, etc.). GM kept dragging their feet so Koenigsegg Group backed out of the deal.
GM would not approve deals with other bidders and then started to shut down Saab, which is when Spyker came in with a last minute deal that eventually was approved by GM.
At least that is how I remember the sequence of events.
