OT: Rental car minimal damage. Experiences? Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Tue, 6 Oct 2015 15:11:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just rented a car for a month with enterprise on this trip that I'm taking. The car was marked as having no damage. It's got close to 30k miles...
So, it's been 4 days or so and someone hit the back bumper. It was parked on the side of the street and some idiot - looks like they panicked - bumped the car and instead of backing up, just kept going, most likely to get away as quickly as possible. It's minimal damage, but significant enough. Larger than a dollar bill. I'll try to take a picture and post it here.
Anyway, it's nothing that I imagine they'll be fixing...it's a rental and stuff happens.
I was going to go in and ask for another car because this one's missing the hatch's cover, so it's not safe to leave my bag. What if they notice? Should I try to buff it out at a body shop, or just pretend I never saw it? Sadly, it's bigger than a dollar bill...and I can see the black bumper underneath the paint in some of the scratches.
How do I get out of this one?
